In January, AFS’s athletics administrators and winter coaches joined with 60 colleagues from across the Friends Schools League for a Sports Can Battle Racism workshop facilitated by Positive Coaching Alliance. Part of the FSL’s commitment to ongoing anti-racism work, the partnership with Positive Coaching Alliance provides FSL athletics administrators and coaches with ideas on how to combat racial discrimination, foster moral courage and empower our programs to create positive change in our communities. A next step in the Friends Schools League’s efforts includes an athletics anti-bias incident survey, which was distributed to upper school athletes and their coaches.
