The Upper School Acting Ensemble class attended the annual Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival’s High School competition on Saturday, March 5 with a team of seven students: Katie Brady-Gold ’22, Gabriela Cohen ’23, Isaiah Kirkland ’22, Oliver Peterson ’25, Isabella Plaut ’23, Sarah Quirk ’23 and Isabella Rey ’23.
The group presented an array of scenes and monologues from Shakespeare’s plays for adjudicators from the professional theatre community, participated in workshops, and attended a panel discussion on working as a theatre artist. Awards were presented at the end of the experience, and the team was honored both individually and collectively: Katie Brady-Gold and Isabella Rey each received a $1000 scholarship to DeSales University; Oliver Peterson won second place in the monologue category; Katie Brady Gold and Gabriela Cohen won first place in the scene category; and the ensemble won first place in the overall team category. Congratulations to these talented students and their teacher Megan Bellwoar Hollinger. |
