Standing Up Against Censorship

img_1558Director of Libraries Toni Vahlsing made  a dramatic point with this display at the entrance to the Faulkner Library this week.

Toni sheathed the covers of 18 books that school districts around the country had challenged or banned over the past two years. Each book in the display carried the description of the censorship action taken against it.

Toni said the presentation “has been really drawing a lot of kids in.”

The AFS display was linked to the American Library Association’s “Banned Book Week.”
