As Warm Weather Beckons, Students Choose Worship Walk

An unusually warm autumn day beckoned as 38 Upper School students and five faculty members went on a Worship Walk in nature.

The only sounds from the quiet parade on November 2 were the footfalls across a wooden bridge, the rustling of leaves underfoot and the calls of birds on the wing.

Led by two students, the walkers needed only light jackets or sweatshirts as they left the Upper School lobby, headed back through the graveyard, across Meadow Field and down a wooded path at the Abington Art Center. The group halted inside an open pavilion behind the art center, formed a circle and listened as some students took a few steps forward to offer thoughtful messages.

The rest of the Upper School, meanwhile, attended Meeting for Worship a usual in the Meeting House.
