About the Program: Varsity Boys Soccer has a long history at AFS dating back to intramural play in the early 20th century before assuming its current interscholastic status after the reintroduction of coeducation in the mid-1970’s. Since 1981, AFS has been a member of the Friends Schools League where the Kangaroos have traditionally fielded competitive teams, including 11 FSL playoff berths and 2 League champions. Each season’s Varsity roster is typically comprised of 15-18 players from 9th through 12th grades who have either participated on AFS’s Middle School Boys Soccer teams or entered the community as upper schoolers. An additional 12-15 players compete as the Junior Varsity team. The Varsity Boys Soccer season starts with preseason training in late August and concludes with League and State postseason tournaments in early November.
