About the Program: Middle School Girls Soccer is a fall sport at Abington Friends School that is open to any interested student in 5th through 8th grades. AFS typically offers one girls soccer team, but if roster size warrants it, the team may be separated on certain game days into an A level for older and more experienced players and a B level for younger and less experienced players. AFS Middle School Girls Soccer plays approximately 10-12 matches per season against other middle school teams that are often comprised of 6th-8th graders though participation on AFS’s MS Girls Soccer team is not limited to students in those grades. Through focusing on individual technical development as well as by introducing fundamental tactical concepts, AFS MS Girls Soccer aims to prepare players for eventual future participation on the AFS Varsity Girls Soccer team, with over 75% of recent Varsity teams having Middle School Girls Soccer experience. Middle School Girls Soccer meets 4 times each week from 3:10-4:30pm from mid-September through the end of October.
