AFS Varsity Boys Tennis Most Recent Season (2023)

• Team continued improvement trajectory with 4 wins and several close losses in 4-9 campaign.
• Jason Wu ’23 served as captain and is only graduating team member.
• Singles’ players Dylan Steinberg ’25, Ethan Farma ’25 & Myles Griffin ’26 all gained valuable experience & are slated to return for ’24 spring.
• Coaches Chet Sutton and Andrew Bickford combine for over 40 years of tennis coaching experience.

Varsity Boys Tennis Program Highlights

• Friends Schools League team runner-up in 2oo5, losing 3-2 in championship match to Friends’ Central.
• Chad Hamilton (1994) and Stephen Feder (2005) claimed Friends Schools League singles championships.
• Andy Arno finished 2^nd 3 straight years (1987-89); Dave Krup (1998) and Ben Weitz (2006) also FSL championship runners-up.
• Dan Feldgus & Robb Whinney (1998) and Adam Taplinger & Mike Wolk (2006) won Friends Schools League doubles titles.
• Alums competed intercollegiately at Middlebury, Haverford, Susquehanna, Lycoming.
