AFS Athletics Staff & Coaches
Jeff Bond serves as the Director of Athletics for Middle and Upper School athletics for both the boys’ and girls’ programs. Jeff has been a part of the AFS community since 2002 after spending 10 years teaching and coaching at Episcopal Academy. A native of Florida and a graduate of Williams College, Jeff was a high school and collegiate multi-sport athlete, and he remains a fitness enthusiast today. In addition to his responsibilities as Director of Athletics, Jeff also teaches History. All questions or concerns about interscholastic and instructional sports at AFS should be directed to Jeff.
Lisa Treadway-Kurtz serves as the Assistant Athletic Director. She also teaches Health and P.E., is a track coach, and an Upper School Grade Dean. One of Lisa’s main responsibilities is Athletic Permission Forms, so questions or concerns about the forms should be directed to her.
Brian Schiff rejoined the AFS community in 2017 as the Athletics Department Assistant after first coaching here from 1992-99. A former journalist, producer at NBC Sports Philadelphia and long-time youth basketball coach, Brian was inducted into the Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2018. At AFS, in addition to coaching the middle school boys basketball and softball teams, Brian is responsible for field, equipment and uniform maintenance, and assists in the creation and management of sports information.
