The Lower School premiered their Winter Program for the full AFS Community in December.
A message from Lower School Director Andrea Emmons:
This year’s Winter Programs are unlike any we’ve had before, which seems only fitting as this time in our lives is unlike any other. While previously the pandemic put performances on hold, this year we did not ask the question, “Can we have a Winter Program?” Instead we asked, “How can we have the Winter Program?” The resulting video productions are a collaborative effort between faculty and students in Lower and Upper Schools, led by Keisha Hutchins Hirlinger, Lower School Music Teacher and Amanda Milz, Lower School Art Teacher. In asking ourselves “How?” we set forth the expectation that it would happen.
As our younger students gathered together to sing “Little Wheel Turning in My Heart” and our older students sang “Put a Little Love in Your Heart,” the heart and spirit of our community was evident. We hope you feel a sense of joy, love and possibility as you view our two Winter Programs. We hope that you are inspired and that you will be moved to inspire others. |
