Eighth grade students in theater classes produced two one-act plays that they had written and stage-designed in the first semester. Middle School Theater Teacher Mary Carpenter told the 7th and 8th graders in the audience that the plays were not finished works. Still, they were full of puns and pratfalls that drew plenty of laughs. One play told the story of a man who was “possessed by a pizza.” The other was a modern adaptation of “Snow White” in which our heroine asks her trusty smartphone for information. “Siri, give me directions to happily ever after.” The answer? “Go 2.1 miles.”
