AFS Expands Experiential Learning Program

AFS announced this week that Rosanne Mistretta has been named to a new position of Director of Experiential Learning, starting in July. The expanding Experiential Learning program is a school-wide approach that connects students in substantive ways to hands-on experiences and extended learning in the outside world.

In her new role, Rosanne has been charged with overseeing and growing the ECCO (Explore, Connect and Commit to Opportunities) program, which works with students individually to help them discover their passions and to connect them to internships, workshops and other opportunities to extend those interests in the world outside of school. She also will be developing a range of group-learning cohorts, expanding upon the pilot MedEx program, which brings together sophomores with an interest in a career in medicine and doctors who are leaders in their fields. Rosanne will be expanding these learning cohorts into other fields, such as law, social justice and entrepreneurship. In her new role, she will embed the ethos of experiential learning throughout the school.
