You Showed Your Love! The first known use of the word gratitude was in 1523—wow, something even older than AFS! Almost 50 decades later, on February 12, 2020, the AFS community came together to support, with gratitude, what they love most about AFS. A total of 134 individuals and families raised $52,000 for our school!
The School also wants to show gratitude to the 17 Upper School students who reached out to parents, alums, grandparents and special friends throughout the Day of Giving to share the importance of supporting our school. THANK YOU to Brianna Clarke ’20, Andres Fluellen ’20, Ben Goldstone ’20, Kendall Hodges ’20, Halle Jacobson ’20, Abi Lomas ’20, Mya Osborne ’20, Amira Parker ’20, Jake Campbell ’21, Noah Vinogradov ’21, Cecilia Barnett ’22, Ella Copeland ’22, Gabby Edwards ’22, Jacob Feiner ’22, Scott Katz ’22, Jana McClary ’22 and Maggie Waldman ’22.
We even had an AFS alumna who supported what she loves all the way from France! AFS alumna, friend and French resident, Gaby Tubach ’57 made a generous Day of Giving pledge in honor of everything she’s gained through AFS. Merci, Gaby, for being the Roo who gave support from the greatest distance from campus.
