Abington Friends School is now a proud summer member of Global Online Academy (GOA), a non-profit organization made up of an international consortium of schools that provides high-quality online learning experiences for students and educators. In partnering with GOA, AFS is excited to offer this summer learning opportunity to all Upper School students. The mission of GOA is to reimagine learning to empower students and educators to thrive in a globally networked society. We deepen learning through courses that equip students with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to be successful in high school, college, career, and life.
GOA’s Summer Program consists of 23 of their most popular semester and year-long courses. These are relevant, passion-driven courses that provide learners in grades 9-12 with the opportunity to dive into topics that are meaningful to them while engaging in hands-on coursework and peer collaboration. These courses are taught by GOA’s outstanding faculty, who primarily come from GOA member schools. Students in GOA courses learn and grow alongside peers with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and opinions.
