Our faculty has been out and about at professional conferences, sharing their expertise. Upper School Art Teacher Amy Diaz Newman presented a “Print Slam” workshop at a Pennsylvania Art Education Association conference on Saturday.

Amy is a member of Prints Link Philadelphia, an arts educators group focused on print-making.

Meanwhile, three faculty members — French Teacher Dina Cohen, Spanish Teacher Mary Jimenez and International Student Support Specialist Maryellen Troyer — were joined by two students, seniors Grant Gilfor and Ken Wang, in giving a presentation on Friday at a conference of the Pennsylvania Council for International Education.

They described the creation of the AFS United Club, a student-led group that has been successful in fostering intercultural awareness through discovery, conversation and friendship.
