White Tops Blue in Friendly Field Day Games

You’ve got to love a faculty that works very hard to help our students grow to be all they can be, but when a gauntlet is thrown down — we’re talking Field Day seniors vs. teachers tug-of-conflict — all bets are off. The teachers showed no mercy when they picked up the thick rope, struggled against the mighty seniors, and eventually pulled their way to victory.

As for the other events on Friday, October 7 — relays, sprints, flag football soccer, hula hoop races and more — the Blue and the White were locked in a virtual dead heat until the final minutes, when White squeaked ahead with a 511-505 victory.

But any care about the outcome easily was eclipsed by the joy of friendly competition — a chance to run in the sun and to cheer for fellow classmates from all divisions on a perfect fall day.

A tip of the hat goes out to retired teacher Carol Palmer, who brought Field Day back from a hiatus for the whole school to enjoy.
